Overview
Noteorbit is a centralized platform for students to find course information, connect with other students, and access class resources. Students can search for classes, save them to their dashboard, and visit class pages to participate in discussions or view notes from previous quarters.
The goal was to bring class discussions and resources into one organized and searchable space, combining the conversational aspect of platforms like Discord with the searchable class information found on sites like RateMyProfessor.
My Role
I worked on the front-end of Noteorbit, focusing on building out the pages and making sure everything worked together. I worked on the Notes page, upload page, header, and routing between the different pages.
What I Built
I built the Notes page where students can view notes from different quarters, as well as the upload page for adding new class notes. I also worked on the header and navigation so users could easily move between the different parts of the site.
Responsive Design
I used React, Next.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS throughout the frontend. I also made the pages responsive so the dashboard, Notes page, header, and other parts of the site could adapt to different screen sizes.
Class Data
I helped get all of the UC Davis class information into the platform by web scraping the classes and organizing the data we needed, including course names, codes, and descriptions.
